I guess i could say i live in "DFW" and people would be confused too. That stands for DALLAS-Forth Worth area, since the 2 are so close and they're big towns that are about 30-40 min. apart

Yeah Delmarva is a very common term there. Most of the newspapers and Tv channel news are called things like "Delmarva Report" "Delmarva's Leading Channel/News" etc.
basically if you live in Maryland there are at least 2 distinct parts of the state. Delmarva is almost like its own state. On one side of the Chesapeake bay bridge you have The Eastern Shore, which includes the beaches like Ocean City and college towns like Salisbury, on the other side of the bridge with "Bawlmore" (baltimore) is almost like another state.
The eastern Shore of Maryland is connected to the Eastern Shore of Virginia, including the beaches and ALL of Delaware
